WHATS THE COST FOR THE SAUNA SESSION?

For the cost of the sauna session you can enjoy a totally private session surrounded by only your friends, family, and the beautiful nature. The hosts are not near the sauna during your session, providing a truly private and immersive experience.
WHAT MAKES ANDSU'S SMOKE SAUNA SPECIAL?
Andsu's smoke sauna was originally situated in Põlvamaa, it faced demolition during road construction. Saved by a change in ownership, the sauna found a new home in the village of Meegomäe in Võru County, thanks to the efforts of the current owner.
WHO IS THE OWNER OF ANDSU'S SMOKE SAUNA?
The current owner has a unique connection to the sauna. As a teenager, he actually lived in a sauna while his father was constructing their house.
CAN I VISIT ANDSU'S SMOKE SAUNA?
Yes, Andsu's smoke sauna is open for visitors. Reservations can be made via email or through the website system, with a minimum notice of 24 hours*.
HOW MANY PEOPLE FIT IN THE SMOKE SAUNA IN ONE SESSION?
The sauna comfortably accommodates up to 4 people in one session.
*IS IT POSSIBLE TO HEAT THE SAUNA ON THE SAME DAY?
Yes, it's possible to arrange same-day sauna session, taking into account the preparation time. Please contact us by contact form for availability.​
WHAT IS THE POLICY ON ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION IN ANDSU'S SMOKE SAUNA?
Alcohol consumption is not allowed in Andsu's smoke sauna. For more information or special requests, feel free to contact Andsu's host.
IS THERE A REFUND POLICY FOR CANCELLATIONS?
If you cancel your booking no later than 48 hours before the session, the reservation fee will be refunded. However, cancellations made later than 48 hours are non-refundable.
WHAT IF I NEED TO CHANGE MY RESERVATION?
Reservation changes are possible if made at least 48 hours before the scheduled session.
TELL ME MORE ABOUT THE HISTORY OF ANDSU'S SMOKE SAUNA.
Originally facing demolition, the sauna was rescued and relocated to Meegomäe. The restoration was completed by Christmas 2023, and the sauna has since brought warmth and joy to several visitors, rejuvenating both body and soul.
CAN I BRING FOOD TO THE SMOKE SAUNA SESSION?
Eating is not recommended in the smoke sauna session, so it's recommended not to come on an empty or overly full stomach. If you are interested in dining options in Võrumaa, please visit the Visit Võru homepage.
ARE THERE ANY AGE RESTRICTIONS FOR VISITORS?
Andsu's smoke sauna is suitable for visitors of all ages. However, parental guidance is advised for young children to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
IS THERE PARKING AVAILABLE FOR VISITORS?
Yes, there is parking available for visitors. It is not recommended to drive down the hill next to the sauna because, after rainy days, the ground becomes wet and soft, and a car might easily get stuck. Therefore, if you have turned off the Käätso-Puiga road, simply park at the beginning of the path to the sauna.
HOW IS WATER PROVIDED FOR BODY WASH IN THE SAUNA?
The host will bring water for body wash to the sauna room. Be cautious as the water in the large container on top of the sauna stove is very hot. Cool water is available in buckets on the floor, and visitors are responsible for mixing suitable water for themselves.
SHOULD I BRING MY OWN TOWELS?
Yes, please bring your own towels for use during the sauna session.​ Avoid using white towels, as the sauna walls might have soot stains that could transfer onto the towels.
IS IT ALLOWED TO MAKE A FIRE UNDER THE STOVE IN THE SAUNA?
No, visitors are strictly forbidden to make a fire under the stove. The oven is preheated by the host, and after heating, the rooms are ventilated to ensure that smoke and fumes are completely cleared from the rooms.
